Today I’m sharing the three major preferences buyers have as a result of the pandemic and spending so much time at home. If you’re preparing to put your home on the market or may do so soon, you’ll want to know about these spaces:
- Storage space. Storage space is crucial to buyers right now because they’ve been spending more time at home, maybe working from home, and they’re tired of seeing clutter. They desire better storage space such as large attics, owner’s suite closets, and front hallway closets. Organizing these with some custom built-ins is currently a huge selling feature. This can be a bit expensive, but you may enjoy them until you move.
Showcasing an excellent space to work from home is beneficial.
- Work-from-home space. Everyone knows that many people have been working from home, so showcasing an excellent space to work from home is beneficial. It doesn’t have to be an entire room, you could demonstrate that the dining room could easily convert into an office space, or have a closet that opens up with a built-in desk—even a sofa table behind the couch can double ask a desk. All these items are becoming especially appealing to buyers. In whatever office space you create, ensure there’s great lighting and a nice background. Plenty of people are doing video meetings whether for work or with loved ones, and everyone wants their surroundings to look attractive on video.
- Great outdoor space. Whether you have just a balcony, patio, or a large backyard, having appealing features in that space is key. It’s amazing how just a few flowers or plants and cushions on chairs can make the space feel charming.
