Are you looking for easy ways to transition your home from winter to spring? I have 5 simple tips to bring in a fresh spring vibe to your home. Let’s get our homes ready for Spring together!
- Declutter Your Home
When decorating for spring, I like to start with a fresh clean slate. This helps to visualize your space in a whole new way! You can start by doing a deep clean and then focus room by room.
Clear your tables, countertops, shelves, couches, etc. Determine what you can recycle, reuse, donate, or throw away. Since outdoor living may be high on your mind, this might be a great time to focus on decluttering & reorganizing your garage.
Having a blank slate can help visualize a fresh take on new spring decor.
- Add plants & flowers
Fresh and/or faux plants and flowers are a great way to decorate for spring. Adding in greenery and florals helps breathe life into your room and can make your home feel renewed and rejuvenated. Embrace the bounty of spring with flowers, greenery, succulents, and cacti, or even simple natural decor items like branches or moss.
- Layer with lighter fabrics and linens
Freshening up your linens is a great way to transition your decor from winter to spring. Switch out your heavier fabrics for lighter fresh linens. Trade those velvet, faux fur, and sherpa blankets and pillows for lighter fabrics like linen and cotton.
This goes for window treatments as well! Consider replacing heavy winter drapes with lighter curtains. You could also think about the best ways to bring more light inside, such as adding decorative mirrors around your home.
- Add fresh spring scents
Bringing in fresh spring + summer scents can make the inside of your home feel like warmer weather is here – even if the outside is still chilly. In addition to fresh flowers – essential oils, diffusers, and candles can all help you breathe in the sweet scents of spring, all season long! Look for earthy or floral scents that bring you closer to nature, or embrace the fresh feeling with clean aromas and bright notes of citrus.
- Decorate with bright or spring colors
Adding decor in bright & spring colors brings a fresh look to your home. If you leaned on winter accents for a few months, now may be a great time to think about how you can introduce a lighter springtime palette – which may include natural shades, pastels, airy neutrals, or even blues and greens.
I hope this has been helpful, and if I can help you in buying or selling a home in the future, feel free to give me a call! My team and I are on standby 7 days a week, 9am to 8pm, ready to help you take the smoother road to sold.
