    Q: Why Will Fall Be a Great Time to Buy or Sell?

    I know it may seem hard to believe, but now is truly a great time to buy or sell. Our market was very active this summer, and there will be no shortage of opportunities as we enter fall. Interest rates are at remarkable lows of 2.75% to 2.99%—that’s absolutely unheard of! They’re practically giving away money, so if you’re thinking about buying anytime in the next year, you may consider jumping on board now. Why not take advantage of these historic rates while they’re here?

    In addition to all of our local buyers motivated by low rates, we’ve noted a lot of out-of-market buyers needing to relocate to our greater area for Cyber Command at Fort Gordon and a host of other reasons. If you’re a seller, you may want to capitalize on all of this demand, which is driving up prices. 

     

    I can’t tell you what things will look like next year, so you might want to strike while the iron’s hot.

     

     

    Nationwide, prices are up 5% to 8.5%, and the number of closings is up 24%. However, the volume of inventory is down 21%. So, as you can see, rising prices and reduced competition creates a prime opportunity for sellers. 

    Recently, I had several clients expedite their plans to retire in 2021 upon realizing the advantages of selling now. They were looking for a breezy beach home or cozy mountain abode in which to enjoy their retirement, and we were able to get those properties under contract as well. Perhaps it’s time for you to rethink your plans and seize the market, too! 

    I don’t have a crystal ball and I can’t tell you what things will look like next year, so you might want to strike while the iron’s hot.
