Photography is super important in my line of work. A bad online photo of a home can discourage a buyer from even visiting that home.
That’s why I’m excited about today’s local business spotlight, where I’m chatting with Mary Beth Cooper of Mary Beth Photography.
Mary Beth is a wife and mother of three children—Jackson, Peyton, and Brenna—and two adorable dachshunds. She is a lover of all things pumpkin, and she and her family have lived in the area for about 15 years.
At Mary Beth’s Photography, they specialize in newborn children, family, and high school senior portraiture. They provide a custom experience for all of their clients, whether that means using props, painting custom backdrops, or going on location. Rather than relying on flash photography or lighting equipment, Mary Beth has a studio filled with windows to utilize natural light for portraits because natural light gives a better depth of field.
According to Mary Beth, the best time to take maternity portraits is between six and seven months into the pregnancy. If you want newborn portraiture, the best time to contact her is three months in advance so she can schedule a session one week after the due date.
At Mary Beth Photography, they provide a fun, custom experience for all of their clients.
If you want to request family portraiture, you can schedule anytime throughout the year—generally, one month in advance is enough time to prepare. She usually does high school senior portraits throughout the summer and early fall.
Before meeting with Mary Beth, if you want to make your time with her more productive, think of different ideas you’d like to do during the session so she can create a unique experience. She usually encourages her clients to research ideas on Pinterest. During your consultation beforehand, you’ll go over everything you’re envisioning for your session so you can relax and have a wonderful experience when it’s time to start.
I want to thank Mary Beth for letting me spotlight her wonderful business. For more videos and information about great local businesses in our community, visit the “general information” section of the video library tab right here on our website.
