Home Showings and Pets

Selling your home and wondering what to do with your pets during showings?

There are several things you can do, but try to have your plan in place ahead of time! Right when your home goes on the market, that is when buyers are most excited! You want to make sure you’re able to get those buyers in right away and not make them wait several days while you figure out what to do with your pets.

So, what are some options?

  1. Have a family member take your pet for a walk or to their house during showing time. Let your agent know if you need a 2 or 4 hour notice for a showing.
  2. Friend or retired neighbor that can take your pet to their house or backyard.
  3. Check with your vet about dog sitters!
  4. Doggy day care! Let your agent know you need a 24-hour notice requirement for showings to make arrangements.
  5. Get a gate. Put your pet behind the gate in an area of the home that the buyer can still see so they don’t have to schedule a 2nd showing just to see that area of the home.

If you have questions about this, give me a call! If you’re thinking about buying or selling, remember my team and I are on standby, 7 days a week, ready to help you take the smoother road to sold!
