Today we have the owner of one of our business partners with us, Andy Beard of Caring Transitions of Augusta.
Caring Transitions is a business that we have worked with for many years now, and they have helped many of our clients through the downsizing process. I wanted to invite Andy in to talk with our viewers about what all he and his company do for our clients.
Shannon: Will you give us an overview of what you do, Andy?
Andy: When families are deciding to downsize, we provide free consultations to discuss what is needed with space planning, downsizing, decluttering, packing, and unpacking. We also do online auctions on our CTBIDS platform, which are the items that you do NOT want to take with you. We can actually help with the liquidation services by putting them on our CTBIDS auction site.
Shannon: That’s a lot of stuff, and I know our clients love your company and your services. When we have a client that is planning a move and they know the date they’re going to be moving, how far in advance should we reach out to you to coordinate to get you in there to have an initial consultation with them?
Andy: We like to have at least 30 days, but we work with tight time frames too, for example, a quick sale, which would require 2 weeks, so we can do just about any time period. Feel free to give us a call for a consultation, it’s always best to plan out ahead, so if you know maybe 9 months from now that you may be wanting to sell your house, give us a call!
Shannon: Yes, plan ahead! You said the initial consultation is FREE, correct?
Andy: Yes, a free consultation and so that means we will come out there for about 30 minutes to an hour and spend time with you, and ask questions about your time frame and what you may want to take. There’s a lot of different variables that go into it, but we can really help you with that whole transition.
Shannon: And where all do you service?
Andy: We service all over the CSRA, from Aiken, to Evans, to Thomson, all over.
Shannon: That’s awesome. Ok, what other things have we not covered that we need to share with our viewers?
Andy: Our online auction site works very quickly. We send a professional team of photographers in there, so our employees will do descriptions, measurements, and the provenance of the items. We take care of your items, and we want to promote them to get as much money for you during your transition, and so the online auction site will be on there for 7 days. We work very well within the gated communities, say for instance, Woodside.
Shannon: That was going to be my next question, so that’s perfect! So, they can come in the community and Woodside works well with you guys?
Andy: Yes, we’ve been working with them for many, many years now. The families work closely with the HOA and then the HOA helps the family by calling in passes and we do scheduled pick-ups. That means we have our team there to help the families and the people picking up the items to make it a seamless process.
Shannon: One of the things my clients love SO much about your company is that it’s online. You’re not having all these people traipse through your home, looking at stuff, it’s really fabulous.
Andy: Yes, we don’t want 200 people running through your home for a typical estate sale. With our process, we do our best to be able to take some of these items and put them in your garage, because we want to protect the home, especially if you’ve got an offer on the home.
Shannon: Well that’s great, thank you for being here with us today, Andy!
