Are you preparing your home to sell?

If so, I have one key tip for you...if there is something in your home you know is outdated but you love it, you may need to change it to appeal to the majority of buyers in order to get your home sold.

I have a couple of examples. In my case, if I was planning to sell my home, I would need to think about painting over the blonde paint color I have in one room.  It is a dated color, as are most yellow tones.  Making my home more appealing to more buyers would help me when my photos hit the market to attract the largest number of buyers visiting my home and making offers...which could lead to a multiple offer situation and higher selling price.

Another example is having a room with some wallpaper that I absolutely love.  Problem is, the odds of everyone liking the 1 wallpaper out of thousands available, is pretty slim.  So removing or even painting over the wallpaper after mudding the seams and feathering it out would go a long way in making the home more appealing to more buyers.

Removing a majority of knick-knack decor to allow the buyers eye to focus on the greatest features of my home would be another thing I would need to do.  Particularly in photos, a lot of decor can detract from the beauty of interior photos.

Replacing bright gold knobs on spare bathroom cabinets is one I see a lot that is an easy fix.

Removing overgrown shrubs out front and planting younger, fresher shrubs or plants will also make the home look newer and more inviting.
